Legal notice
Who offers the service, on what terms, with what responsibilities. Last updated: 15 July 2026.
Service operator
The site adogma.it and the Adogma service are offered by an Italian sole proprietorship (hereinafter the Operator). The Operator's full identifying details (name, registered office and VAT number) are given to anyone who requests them by writing to info@adogma.it, and are always stated in the contractual documents and on invoices. Email is the only point of contact: it applies to commercial enquiries, support, reports and legal communications.
Subject matter and recipients of the service
Adogma is a private platform for the administrative and documentary life of Masonic lodges. The client is the lodge, or the body that represents it: the relationship is between professionals, governed by the service contract signed at activation, which prevails over this page in the event of conflict. The members' area is not open to the public: it is accessed only with an invitation issued by your own lodge. The public site has an informational function, together with the Culture section where lodges may publish texts of their own choosing.
Essential terms
- activation takes place on request, with a 90-day trial with no credit card and no automatic renewal;
- the consideration is an annual fee per lodge; the pricing terms in force are published in full on the Pricing page;
- the service must be used in compliance with the law and the contract: unlawful uses, attempts at unauthorised access and any use foreign to the purpose of the platform are prohibited;
- the Operator may suspend accounts that breach the contract, as the contract itself provides.
Safekeeping of the keys: a responsibility of the client
The platform is built so that the Operator cannot read the content: the encryption keys are derived from each member's password and from the recovery code, which remain in the sole possession of the persons concerned. For this reason their safekeeping is an essential obligation of the client and its members: if the password and the recovery code are lost together, that person's encrypted content cannot be restored by anyone, the Operator included. This impossibility is a declared design choice, not a failure to perform: the Operator is not liable for the loss of access to content resulting from the loss of the encryption credentials.
Limitations of liability
- the service is provided with professional diligence, but without any guarantee of uninterrupted availability: maintenance, faults and external causes may suspend it temporarily;
- backups are daily, encrypted and kept for 30 days in a separate region; in the event of a restore, whatever was entered after the last usable copy may be lost;
- to the extent permitted by law, the Operator's total liability towards the client is limited to the annual fee paid for the year in which the event occurred;
- responsibilities that the law does not allow to be excluded or limited remain unaffected, including those for wilful misconduct or gross negligence.
Content published by the lodges
The texts of the Culture section are written and published by the lodges that use Adogma, under their responsibility: the Operator hosts that content and has no general obligation of prior monitoring. Anyone who believes that a piece of content infringes the law or the rights of third parties can report it to info@adogma.it: the Operator assesses the report and removes without delay any unlawful content of which it becomes aware.
Online sessions (video call)
Among the features of the service, Adogma allows a session to be held by video call, in a virtual room, as an alternative or in addition to the meeting in person. The audio and video transmission system is hosted directly by the Operator, on the same European infrastructure as the rest of the service and without resorting to third-party video services. To allow participants to see and hear one another in real time, during the sitting the audio and video streams are conveyed by the Operator's transmission server, which routes them in real time. Like documentary content (papers, minutes, treasury), these streams too are encrypted end-to-end on the devices of those present (high-privacy profile) and are not readable by the Operator: the server routes opaque envelopes of them without being able to open them. Encryption protects the content, not the metadata of the room; if a participant uses a browser too dated for live encryption, their stream falls back to the clear and the room declares it to those present. The stream is neither recorded nor kept.
Online sessions are not recorded by default: the Operator records no audio, video or text of them. A participant who nevertheless decides to record, in whole or in part, a session does so under their own exclusive responsibility, in compliance with the law and the rules of their own lodge, and answers for it personally without involving the Operator.
Intellectual property
The platform, the site and their texts, trademarks and distinctive signs belong to the Operator or to the respective owners and may not be reproduced without authorisation, save for the free uses permitted by law. The content uploaded or published by the lodges remains that of the lodges and their authors: the Operator processes it solely for the purpose of providing the service and acquires no rights over it.
Independence
Adogma is an independent technology provider: it is not a jurisdiction, it is not an emanation of any jurisdiction and it is not affiliated with any Masonic organisation. The terms and symbols of the tradition appear on the site in a purely descriptive sense of the context of use. Membership of the service neither attests to nor denies anyone's membership of any organisation.
Applicable law and jurisdiction
The service and this notice are governed by Italian law. For any dispute with the client, the courts of Rome have exclusive jurisdiction. If the user acts as a consumer, the mandatory jurisdiction of their place of residence or domicile remains unaffected.
Updates
This notice may change as the service or the rules change: the authoritative version is the one published here, with the date at the top. For the processing of personal data, see the privacy policy.
